Professionals Aspire LLC (PALLC) offers its Flagship course - Helping Professionals: Working with Survivors of gender-based violence. This 8-week 4 Module course is designed to actively engage adult professionals whose work requires them to engage with victims/survivors of domestic abuse, intimate partner violence, sexual assault, and human trafficking. Sometimes the best place to learn is where you are. Our remote classes allow for online instruction as well as connection between students and individual tutors.
PALLC's approach uses Learner-Centered Teaching (LCT) practices encompassing multiple learning styles and intelligences. The course offers a variety of online learning styles, from classes with regularly scheduled assessments to freeform classes you can complete at your own pace.
Antonia Drew Norton (formerly Vann) is PALLC's lead faculty. She is nationally recognized as an anti-violence against women advocate in the field of violence against women prevention (VAWA). She has nearly 40 years of experience working directly with thousands of female victims of gender-based violence (GBV): Domestic and intimate partner
Antonia Drew Norton (formerly Vann) is PALLC's lead faculty. She is nationally recognized as an anti-violence against women advocate in the field of violence against women prevention (VAWA). She has nearly 40 years of experience working directly with thousands of female victims of gender-based violence (GBV): Domestic and intimate partner violence, Sexual Violence, and Human Trafficking both within the community and in prisons. Her expertise is broad including advocacy, advocate/staff development, education, grant development, cultural and trauma-informed work as well as program design for survivors including African American survivors. Antonia is the founder of Asha Family Services, Inc., (Asha) the first culturally specific African American domestic abuse organization (evidence-based) in the United States and in WI. Her work on behalf of victims of GBV is substantial. She earned her bachelor’s degree from the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee in Education with honors in Africology. She earned her master’s degree in Education with an Adult Human Services focus from the University of Wisconsin-Platteville. Norton's work significantly helped to change policy and practice on local and national levels.
